Social Science in Classroom 6

Hello all,

Things have definitely changed in Classroom 6.  We are now learning about Economics, World History, U S History, Problems of Social Living and Design. Classroom 6 is quite the diverse bunch these days!

Some highlights:

Economic students are learning about Capitalism as they develop their own businesses.  We have several clothing stores and a cotton candy machine business in the works.  Students are currently developing their business plan.

World History students are looking at World War I and will analyze the aims and negotiating roles of world leaders, the terms and influence of the Treaty of Versailles and Woodrow Wilson's fourteen points, and the causes and effects of the United State's rejection of the League of Nations on world politics.

In U S History we are studying about America's participation in World War II.

Students in Problems of Social Living are seeking  to conquer Bullying.  We are currently creating a Love Beats Bullying Tree as we comparing the roots, trunk, branches, leaves, flowers, fruit and seeds of love to the roots, trunk, branches, leaves, flowers, fruit and seeds of bullying.

The Design students are working on an engineering project.  Groups of students are developing the following:  Remote Control School Lockers so that students with their hands full can more easily get their locker open; A Table Top Lazer Pen  Maze game; Cali, A Solar Powered Robot Who Picks Up Trash; and A Notebook Binder with a Built in Solar Powered Pencil Sharpener.

Come back for photos!
