Creativity Enhances Learning: Tomorrow is mid-week day- YEA!

First of all- A hearty Classroom 6 Hip, hip, hooray to our own Bev who started her first day of college last night. We are allo so proud of you, bev!

Today was a fun day of learning-Thank you Ryan for your help all day!

I loved the Geography stuff we saw and did on South America- I want to go there! It seems Eleven and Em loved the pop music, Anthony loved the reptiles and Raven loved the animals and the instruments made out of bamboo. Raven, you need to look up that instrument and tell us what it is called. I think we were all pretty disgusted (especially Sarah) by the poisonous snakes, spiders, and sting ray-frightening, right James?. I think BW thinks they were cool! So many people live in Rio de Janiero and it is so small. Not sure I would want to go there.

Some of you did great work on your WIND research- we learned that wind is caused by cold air pushing warm air up and that the earth's orbit contributes to this movement of air. Which would you rather be in a gale or a typhoon? A breeze or a tornado? If we lived on the coast would we more likely see a tornado or a hurricane? Answer these questions in the comments below, please.

Tomorrow we will do ratios and proportion in Math-LEMONADE ANYONE? If we have 8 cups of lemonade and 9 students, how much lemonade will each student get in cups? Find out tomorrow!

In English, we will work on an essay about what we have read so far in The Lord of the Flies. Start thinking about what you want to write about- You can write comparing characters; you can write about Ralph being chosen as leader-do you agree or disagree and why; you can write about what you would do if you were one of the boys; so many options! You will be able to write your essay on your personal blog, or you can use a word document, and may be even one of you will want to try a wiki!
